Fantasy Baseball: Draft Rule One
With pitchers and catchers reporting in what seems like no time, Fantasy Baseball owners need to start prepping for their drafts. The best way to go about that is by Draft Rule One: Study!
Think of your fantasy draft as like a math test you had while you were in high school. Your not going to know exactly what the questions are on the test, but you still need to come in ready for every scenario.
I love to do two things before my draft:
1) Research: Buy magazines, look up statistics, do whatever you have to do to get up to date on as many players as you can. Know your depth charts and your closers, because you want to be as prepared as you can for the draft.
2) Mock Drafts: Whether you decide to read about them or do a few on your own, make sure you know where players are going. Do you really want to draft Greg Maddux three rounds too early? I know I don’t, so make sure you have a good idea of draft positions. I personally love to do as many drafts as I can before my big drafts, because I’d rather make a mistake in a league I don’t care about.
